Adding Dimension Through 3D Art

Using art in your home

Designing with Art

I know that when you think about art, you think about 2-dimensional prints- maybe they are canvas or framed. Imagine a world where there was more life to every piece that you hung on your walls. It is possible….because 3-dimensional art does just that!

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. Your walls can transform your home into a gallery space.

3-dimensional art ideas:

  • Sculpture
  • Metal
  • Glass
  • Wood
  • Overlapping pieces
  • Shadow boxes
  • Climbing pieces
  • Collages + series

I love that the possibilities are endless with art. I have found a new appreciation for art in the last few years, where I continue to fall in love with art everywhere I go, which includes local art galleries. I have included several examples of 3-dimensional art that I have used in my personal home so you can see how this works.

Yes, black Walls- Am I Crazy?

Although I may be a little crazier these days, I still want to share the reason why I did something against all social norms. I painted my dining room walls black because the rest of my house has white walls and I wanted to create an opportunity for color to stand out. Think of art galleries. Most of them have white walls so that the art stands out. Why can’t the walls be black and offer the same effect, but be bolder?

I wanted to use my dining room as my own art gallery, where the walls made an intimate space and offered many opportunities for conversation while eating here with friends and family.

One of my inspirations once said, “A life without color is like a life without love.”

Embrace color and let it shine.
