Some people see numbers. These people are left-brained. They are analytical, enjoy assembling something with several pieces and certainly aren’t shy of equations, calculations or formulas.

I don’t see numbers, but I do see in color. Clearly, I am right-brained. In the 8 years that I have been working with clients, I have strengthened my intuition and developed a way of reading people. When I walk into a client’s home, I am already seeing a visual of who that client is as a person, what his/her likes and dislikes are and what I envision that home to transform into. I can also be working on a new construction project, where we are simply looking at a floor plan and I already know what kinds of fabrics my clients are going to gravitate towards once we furnish their home.

My mind takes in the vision of a home and puts out images. My mind takes in the conversations with homeowners and spits out certain colors, textures and ideas. This happens almost instantly.

This is part of the reason why I decided to start a nail polish line in 2016. I kept seeing colors and needed to put them into something other than my brain! We are up to over 30 colors now, does that tell you something?

Yes, it is true- designers do see in color!
